Professor Harald Kosch is Vice President for Academic Infrastructure and IT Facilities at the University of Passau. He has held the Chair of Distributed Information Systems at the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics since 2006. Professor Kosch is the German director of DFH/UFA Doctoral College, which brings together INSA de Lyon and the University of Passau. Together with my team, I developed intelligent systems that ensure distributed information processing, retrieval and filtering for multimedia and high-data applications. These include tools used in eHumanities. In our research, we benefit from international networks: the research centre IRIXYS teams up researchers from the University of Passau, INSA Lyon (France) and Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy). We organise research workshops, develop joint projects at national and international level - with the objective of encouraging trailblazing technology innovations.
