“Social aspects generally confront us as a challenge or as a matter of course. Sociology asks how challenges become plausible, how matters of course come about and how both change. Sociology has experience with this. After all, it emerged in the context of a fundamental social change, specifically industrialisation. Therefore, sociology can make a decisive contribution when globalisation and digitisation are threatening and promising to radically transform society and the earth system.”

Professor Anna Henkel has brought the new, interdisciplinary format “10 Minutes of Sociology” to the University of Passau. In the winter semester 2019/2020, the lectures were dedicated to the concept of responsibility. Professor Henkel kicked off the series with a lecture on the subject of the self-medication of responsible patients.
