"I look forward to doing my part in strengthening sustainability-driven geography research at the University of Passau. My particular interest is in finding ways to make transformation processes participatory. That way, transdisciplinary approaches become an opportunity to consider research and teaching not as two separate spheres of activity but as part of a whole where innovative didactic solutions can be implemented by way of enquiry-based learning and motivating courses can be created in the field of transformative education. Along my main lines of research, which are Education for Sustainable Development, spatial concepts/theories, Visual Geographies, racism-critical education and post-colonial perspectives, my primary regional focus is on Germany and East Africa.“
