Tools for accurate predictions with Big Data
Prescriptive Analytics represents one of the most important trends in Big Data: the models provide precise recommendations for action to influence trends or to react to future events.
Researchers from the Universities of Passau, Lyon, Brussels and Milan and experts from Worldline, a subsidiary of Atos, collaborate on innovative and disruptive tools for data scientists, data engineers and software engineers in order to reduce time spent dealing with various data analysis problems, particularly those that arise periodically. To this end, the researchers have identified several questions in the area of machine learning.
Science and technology experts
The project is a joint investment research programme between Worldline and five academic laboratories: University of Passau, LIRIS (INSA Lyon), Hubert Curien (Saint-Etienne), University of Milan and the University of Brussels. The lead researchers at the University of Passau are Harald Kosch (Chair of Distributed Information Systems) and Michael Granitzer (Professor of Media Computer Science).
The LIRIS laboratory at INSA Lyon is an association of several research laboratories and individual scientists from the field of information and communication technology; the Hubert Curien Laboratory of the University of Saint-Etienne, which among other things is focused on the field of machine learning, is involved in LIRIS.
Wordline develops and manages business-to-business IT services, such as electronic platforms for processing digital payment transactions.
