Central Archive of Data Protection Authorities' Reports (ZAfTDa)

The ZAfTDa database makes available to the public the activity reports of the German Data Protection Commissioners on federal and state level and other supervisory authorities for data protection, which have been published since 1971. Special care is taken to choose the "official" version published to the State Parliament.

All previously published activity reports of the data protection commissioners of the Länder and supervisory authorities are archived. Together with the activity reports of the Federal Data Protection Commissioner (BfDI), the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) and the European Data Protection Board (formaly Article 29 Group), the ZAfTDa offers a total of more than 600 reports.

Thus, ZAfTDA offers a text corpus for quantitative text analyses as well as for legal, administrative or informatics research.ZAfTDA originated from a project between the TH Mittelhessen (then FH Gießen-Friedberg) and the Humboldt University of Berlin. It is now supervised by the Stiftung Datenschutz (federal Foundation for Data Protection) and the University of Passau.

Principal Investigator(s) at the University Prof. Dr. Kai von Lewinski (Lehrstuhl für Öffentliches Recht, Medien- und Informationsrecht)
