'Research at the chair is currently focussing on projects that target the dimensions of reading promotion and literary learning. In addition to classic intervention research such as the effectiveness of reading promotion measures, the use of diagnostic procedures and correlation studies such as those on the predictive validity of subject-related professional competences for teaching success, there has recently been an increasing number of collaborations that aim to strengthen ties between research and practice communities, in which intensive work is carried out with local schools. Our Language and Cognition Laboratory (SKOLA) offers us an ideal research infrastructure for this and in projects such as SuSi. The main motivation behind this research focus is ultimately to achieve effective interventions more quickly and in a more practical way, while also integrating the professionalisation of students.’
