Professor Franz Lehner has held the Chair of Information Systems (Information and IT Service Management) at the University of Passau since 2004. He is the founder and creator of the European Conference on Software Maintenance and Reengineering (CSMR) and the International Association of Knowledge Management (IAKM). He was the founding President of the Danube University Krems.

Our field seeks to improve processes and operational procedures. This is becoming increasingly complex in the era of digitalisation: something that does not appear to cause any issues in an individual project generates a wealth of new phenomena and issues when multiplied with a large number of networked applications. One single field can no longer tackle all of this. It requires perspectives from and collaboration with other subject areas.”
