DFG Project AquaDiva: Understanding the Links between Surface and Subsurface Biogeosphere

DFG Project AquaDiva: Understanding the Links between Surface and Subsurface Biogeosphere

The Collaborative Research Center AquaDiva is focusing on the study and understanding of how water (Aqua) links surface and subsurface and how local geology and surface conditions set subsurface functional diversity (Diva) and ecology.

To support the achievement of this goal, Professor Alsayed Algergawy, deputy for the Chair of Data and Knowledge Engineering at the University of Passau, and his data management team, introduce a number of services that simplify the processes during data lifecycle. A first step is to provide a simple and effect way to upload and preserve collected datasets at different locations. The next step is to obtain insights from collected data. However, suitable data that support the process of getting value of datasets are not often at hand, and data discovery and exploration are required. To this end, within AquaDiva Data Portal (ADDP), we developed a number of services that support the discovery and exploration of datasets.
